Boxing Day Snowout

We drove to Surrey with our turkey in the trunk of the car for our traditional family dinner on Christmas Day. The picture was taken in the white room at my Aunt Sandy's.
We made it with no trouble (the main roads are clear) but I'm sure about getting my car out of the garage anytime soon as I drove in instead of backing in. And yes it is snowing again and has been for many hours now. The gift that just keeps on giving!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

We are spending our first Christmas in the new house and all our old stuff is here but in a new setting! It was a wintery wonderland for sure. See the night picture! We think it looks like a Gingerbread House.
Click below for the latest video from the backyard and our back door. I wanted to post it before the slush and thaw starts.

More snow, again.

Now the first time it snowed it was festive.
Now it is really annoying. Our church services are cancelled for tonight and Louise is out shovelling snow again. We think we had about 5 inches last night.
This brings our birdbath snow gage to about 15 1/2 inches and as you can see in the picture it is still snowing.
Roger is in Calgary and we wanted to show all of you how much snow we really have.
Louise cleaned his car off a few days ago so this is only the last two snow falls.
We have had the city truck come along and clean some snow away but not in the last 24 hours.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas in the snow or not.

Snow, more snow in Vancouver?!

Yes it is true in Vancouver we are continuing to have snow.
Mom and I made it to church this morning and then it snowed another inch while we were there.
Driving on the main roads are fine but the side streets are "winter driving".
Play our movie to see the latest snow storm.

I do have to tell you that even in this snowy time in Vancouver I was amazed when I was shopping yesterday that I saw a hummingbird!
I actually stopped to watch (and made others do the same) it as it seemed so out of place to see this tiny bird searching for flowers in the sub-zero temperatures. But it did find a flowering bush on 41st Ave.
