So on July 6th (we got rained out on July 5th) we had our Moving Sale.
Louise masterfully investigated how to have a successful yard sale on the internet and made some very professional signs (attaching balloons helps too).

At 10am (well okay we did let a few people buy before then) we started our sale. People came all day long. Roger was in charge of our "man table" and spent a very long time organizing the hundreds or nails, screws and other such items into jars.
Lots of neighbours came out and some who saw it listed on Craig's List came to see specific items.
Mom thinks we sold 95% of our stuff but I think it was closer to 85% but we were able to go out to WhiteSpot and enjoy dinner on some of our hard earned cash.
I still can't believe what people will buy. The leftovers we took to Value Village and the microwave from 1981 (in great working condition) we finally put on Craig's List.
Craig's List is amazing. Within three hours of listing our kitchen table and chairs we had a sale and the stuff was taken away. Since then we have sold: my old 5 disc CD player, a Finnish table and benches, an old metal armoire, and even our ping pong table that had been in the garage over 30 years! I think Louise's excellent and professional descriptions of the items have helped them get sold very quickly.
